Hotel with an excellent location, pretty clean, the excellent employees very friendly, reasonable breakfast,but the facilities need new furniture, the outdated bathrooms, (the polivan leaves out water and floods the bathroom), hifi inexistent, tv to need tuning and the dinners very weak with food pulled to the salt room 204

A fantastic location. Castelo de Vide is a beautiful, enchanting town with plenty of historical points of interest with some amazing views. It is also central to many other places of interest and beauty. Lots of good walks nearby. Our hotel room, 202, was very clean, quiet and comfortable for a couple. We had requested a mountain view but were given a room with a balcony at the front of the building, overlooking the park. There was adequate storage space and the bed was comfortable. Bathroom was lovely with a good shower. The only disappointment was the lack of tea and coffee making facilities as we do enjoy starting our day with a cup of tea in bed. There were very few people staying here due to the time of year which was quite nice. The staff are delightful - polite and helpful. Wi-Fi is a bit hit and miss. Breakfast is basic but adequate - classic continental - simple but substantial. Dinner had been fine. Not much choice but food was of a decent quality. However, dinner tonight was of concern as it was almost identical (80%) to the seafood dinner served yesterday with the addition of a couple of things. I am certain the meringue style dessert was previously served yesterday too. This is very off-putting and concerning. We also found it disappointing that guests are not offered tea or coffee at evening dinner, particularly as tea and coffee making facilities are not available in the rooms. There is a hot drinks machine but guests are not allowed to use this at dinner, only breakfast. Will definitely be staying in Castelo De Vide again but doubt it will be in this hotel due to the concerns around the food at dinner, which is a shame.

We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Not only was it spotlessly clean, the staff were very friendly, location in town was excellent and there was ample free parking. The hotel itself is quite old fashioned but this gives it a certain charm as it is quite an historic building and very well kept. Great value for money and beautiful views at breakfast.
