Hospedaria Sao Filipe

We stayed here just one night. Considering the cost we were more than satisfied. The property is a few minutes walk from the center. The room, although small, was equipped with all comforts and the staff was very kind. We requested a kettle and the lady at reception was very kind. I recommend this place but not more than 1/2 nights

The location of the hotel is excellent if you want to visit the nice center of Faro. It's easy to overlook the front of the small hotel. Shops, cozy eateries and historic buildings such as the church with the skulls “Capela dos Ossos” within walking distance. The welcome was very warm and we were allowed to store the suitcases here a few hours before the check-in time of 3 p.m. Via a narrow corridor with a few stairs you eventually reach the 24-hour reception via an electrically guarded door. Our room right next to the reception had good air conditioning and working WiFi. It is a clean room with 2 single beds with handy sockets right next to the bed. There is also a cupboard where you can store some clothes. The clean small bathroom has a nice hot shower with fixed walls, shampoo dispenser and wonderfully clean bath towels. Furthermore, the small bathroom has a sink with mirror, 1 toilet and a hairdryer. The hotel has airport service and for €18, we were taken to the nearby airport at 4:00 am by an acquaintance of the hotelier as agreed. Uber taxis are often cheaper, but having more certainty in advance is nice.

We spent 5 days in faro, we stayed at Sao Filipe guest house, it was very clean, the staff were extremely friendly, telling us about the best places to visit, the receptionist even gave us a local glass of port on our arrival!
