Marina Buzios Apartments

Arrived to locked up reception even though we had arranged late check in. Taxi driver had to phone around to find someone to let us in. We had to sit on steps in dark for half hour. Apartment itself was completely disappointing. Front door held together with filler and had daylight coming through flimsy panels . Not secure at all. Poor standard of furniture. Sockets coming out of walls. Bare light bulb dangling over dangerously balanced mirror was the only light in bathroom. Balcony unusable as too small and right over main road and hot air blasting from air con unit. Bird droppings falling down from chimney continuously. Beds very uncomfortable so really hard to sleep. Sofa falling apart and covered with stained sheet. Unable to sort out issues at reception due to language barrier.

No reception this is just up the road. Apartment was large and very clean. Furniture a bit old but beds were comfortable. The pool was opposite in grounds of its own. You pay 20 euros to have a card to open the gate but you get it back when you return the key. No sun beds but a lovely grassy area. We stayed for 1 week and the room was cleaned once and towels changed once. Iron and ironing board in apartment. Kettle, toaster, microwave and all other amenities you'd need. Air con worked. Didn't use television. No safety deposit box but you could lock all rooms upstairs and all windows were double glazed and had shutters. A lovely grassy area outside with patio table and chairs provided. There is a supermarket just up from the petrol station. Located in a very quiet area but within 2 minutes your at the Marina. There are lots of bars and restaurants but not many shops. Opposite the apartment there is crazy golf you pay 16 euros for 2 games as there are 2 courses. You don't have to play on the same day you can go back another day. This seems expensive but it's well worth it. They serve food and drinks too which were good value for money. We had a delicious Chinese meal at "harbour view" the best I've ever had. Don't know if it was the time of year but I felt it was more resident based. I wouldn't class this as a family place as there wouldn't be much to occupy children. On our last day they let us have a late check out of 5oclock at no extra charge.Staff very helpful and left a phone number so they could be contacted when reception wasn't open.

Stayed here for a long weekend, basic but comfortable accommodation, owners arranged airport transfers and late night key collection, good location. Didn’t use pool area as walked to one of the hotels around the marina. Only criticism we had was a “fusty” smell to bed linen and only one set of keys between us. Security was good with two different keys required for entry. Would recommend for anyone looking for a short walk to marina etc and good value accommodation.
