Our stay at Turim Hotel in Porto had both positive and disappointing aspects. On the positive side, the room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom was spotless, and we especially enjoyed the balcony with its beautiful view. The accommodation itself met our expectations. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. During check-in, we asked for recommendations about day tours and local activities, but instead of offering any guidance, we were simply told that all the information was on the table. A little more friendliness and willingness to help would have made a much better first impression. We were also asked to choose a breakfast time slot during check-in. Since we were on holiday, we explained that we couldn’t commit to a specific time and wanted to keep it flexible. However, when a friend joined us later, she was told that I had booked a breakfast slot from 10:00 to 11:00, which I had never agreed to. I then had to call reception myself to have that breakfast slot cancelled, as it had been assigned without my consent. The biggest disappointment came on our second morning. We had a boat tour booked, so we stopped by breakfast briefly around 8:00 a.m. and only had coffee and some bread before leaving. When we arrived at the meeting point, the tour had been cancelled. We returned to the hotel hoping to enjoy the buffet breakfast properly, but were told by the manager that this wasn’t allowed because we had “already had breakfast.” We tried to explain that we had only grabbed a quick snack because we were rushing to our tour, but there was no understanding or flexibility. We were told we would have to pay for breakfast again if we wanted to eat. What made the situation worse was the manager’s attitude(margather or Margaret), which came across as rude and dismissive. The interaction left us feeling very uncomfortable for the rest of our stay. While the rooms and facilities were good, hospitality is just as important, and unfortunately, we did not feel welcomed or valued as guests. Because of this experience, we would not choose to stay here again.

We stayed at the hotel on half board in a suite. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel bedroom was lovely and quiet and they are cleaned every day and the bed was comfortable. The Breakfast menu was fried breakfast, cold meats cheeses, pain de chocolate and some cereal and yogurts with some local delicacies. Evening meal has about 5 main choices, always fish but beware there a lot of bones in them and local dishes. Cheeses, cold meats and salads. Food was ok but for the fussy eater not much choice. There is a bus stop outside of the hotel that can take you to the centre of Portimao, no.35 and costs €2 each and taxi was just over €6. From there you can travel afield. The pool area has 14 pairs of sun beds under thatched umbrellas and a few more without. The area can be busy late afternoon. The beaches near the hotel are lovely with golden sand and you can hire 2 sun beds and parasol for €17 a day. Lots of restaurants around, spoilt for Choice. Overall the trip was really great and would come back to Portimao again.

This place is SCAMMY and leaves a poor first impression. Do NOT book a FRONTAL seaview room here as they will try to pawn off a SIDE view as a front view, yet still charge you the premium price. They are not booked up, yet for some reason wouldn't give us the FRONT view that we PAID FOR. They didn't discount our price down to account for the downgrade. I guess they hoped we wouldn't notice but it just makes them come across as dirty scammers. We specifically booked this hotel FOR the FRONT seaview and are disappointed with the rooms and the service. We are repeat guests at places that treat us respectfully, but it's doubtful I would come back or recommend this hotel. They had every opportunity to make it right and fix it.
