Mestre Afonso Domingues

We stayed here for our 5 year anniversary and it was great. It was a planned pitstop between Lisbon and Porto, but I would definitely recommend staying here in Batalha! The breakfast was more than adequately stocked and the view of the monastery from our window was perfect!

I stayed at Hotel Lis Batalha and I really enjoyed it. The room had an incredible view over the Batalha Monastery. Waking up like this is something special. The room was very clean, everything well prepared, and I really appreciated the coffee in the room. And finally… a good hair dryer. This for me is important, and it is not so common in hotels. But honestly, what made the real difference was the people. The staff is professional, yes, but also very warm and human. You feel welcomed in a natural way, not forced. There is a nice energy, a bit of spontaneity that makes you feel comfortable immediately. A special thank you to Rui at breakfast, always kind and with a beautiful attitude, and also to the receptionist who told us it was his first day. I was surprised, because he was calm, helpful, and managed everything perfectly, even booking us a very nice restaurant. I would come back without thinking twice.

It was a genuinely pleasant experience. One of the highlights is without a doubt the location. Perfectly positioned near the monastery, giving the whole stay a unique atmosphere that you don’t often find elsewhere. The hotel itself has a welcoming and relaxed feel. It’s not extravagant, but it doesn’t need to be. The charm lies in its simplicity and the sense of comfort it provides. The room was clean, well-maintained, and comfortable enough. Everything felt functional and thoughtfully arranged. What stood out most was how peaceful the environment felt, while still being in a central and convenient spot. The staff were friendly and helpful.
