Pousada de Obidos-Castelo de Obidos

Very nice stay at the Pousada do Castelo de Óbidos. Our room, D Henrique, at 202, upper room castle, very good, has a view to the courtyard and to the tower D. Fernando and is in a quiet area of the castle. The bathroom has a window. There is a small counter, with table and chairs, opposite the door to the bedroom. We were presented with a small mim for 50 years of marriage. The staff were very friendly at check-in, in carrying the luggage to the room and at check-out transported them to the parking lot. It is forbidden to enter the walls, so the car has to stay in one of the parks or one of the streets outside the walls.

What an experience to stay in a castle! The staff was wonderful, especially Alex, who was helpful, knowledgeable and went out of his way to make our visit amazing. Breakfast at the hotel was delicious and a perfect way to see Obidos. Stay here if you can.

Staying at Pousada Castelo Óbidos was truly magical. Arriving as the day-trippers drifted away, the village grew quiet and the castle felt wonderfully our own. From the warm welcome of ginjinha served in chocolate cups to candlelit dinner within ancient stone walls, every moment felt steeped in history. Our room overlooked Óbidos’ red rooftops, and walking the ramparts at dusk as the lights flickered on was unforgettable. The night was perfectly still, and morning bells and mist over the countryside completed the experience. This wasn’t just a hotel stay — it felt like living inside history.
