This hotel is not a 4-star but a 2-star. At the reception, they do not provide any information (breakfast hours, spa, etc.), and they do not even speak English. The room, a double on the fourth floor, is one to forget. Old furniture, peeling wallpaper, missing or disconnected electrical outlets. The bathroom has a very high bathtub (too high) with a showerhead connected to a garden hose, and the faucet sprays water towards the wall, making it impossible to place a foot underneath. Cheap toilet paper (it does not have perforations) and a courtesy set for one (one shower cap and one soap). The beds were not made the first night. The breakfast was pathetic: an old and long fridge counter with an endless array of half-empty plates. Lack of suitable containers to keep some foods warm (some visibly have been there for several days). The only positive note is the kindness of the breakfast room staff. Of course, there was no greeting or smile from the person at the reception at the time of departure, just a nod of the head.

I came from Belgium for one week, and the hotel is very well located. The receptionist, Paolo, is the best receptionist I’ve ever had in all the hotels I’ve stayed at until today. Very professional and very kind — you are lucky to have him on your team. He is the main reason why I’m giving 5 stars.

In this hotel I was welcomed in a very friendly and warm way. Although far from the attractive center of Cluj-Napoja, I consider Hotel Paradis a great accommodation to stay in the delightful Romanian city. The room I was assigned was spacious and quiet, but with a somewhat dated furniture. Breakfast is served in the same area as the restaurant. There is the right mix of sweet and savoury. Drinks can be taken from fruit or apple juice (at the dispenser) or from a coffee or cappuccino (at the self-service machine). The espresso is of a decent standard, I can not complain. The real ''gem'' of the hotel is the presence on floor -1 of a large swimming pool and sauna, in fact this hotel has a Spa, and I highly recommend booking the formula ''room + Spa'' because Cluj-Napoja is an often rainy city, so with the Spa you will have the opportunity to stay in complete relaxation in the hotel!
