Sofitel Jeddah Al Hamra

Traveled for work to Jeddah and was happy to see Al Hamra in prime location close to main of the offices and commerce area. The hotel also being managed by pullman gave me the feeling it was a good choice. However, as some of the comments below mention. Guest relations is very poor at this hotel and non-arabic speakers will have a seriously though time. To begin with our chauffeur did not arrive to the airport nor did the hotel even send any information on contact for driver. Therefore would not suggest using the hotel's pickup service - just get an uber or negotiate with the driver of any cabs outside. Ride should not cost more then SAR 75. Apart from the poor PR, the hotel itself was OK. The rooms were decent and the decor was alright. But one thing was clear, this was a hotel WAY WAY past it's prime. It could have been the in thing back in 80s but it's stuck with easily 30 or 40 year old decor that still feels old and renovation is badly needed. The breakfast buffet selection was decent, but nothing close to usual Arabian hospitality standards. All in all I would not recommend someone coming to stay for leisure, if for business Location needs to be your number 1 priority and if you are arabic-speaking then wouldn't be too much of a hassle, others - pls stare clear of this property.

Staff at the dining area is very discrimatory to aseans. Only assist middle eastern and western. We were out to the pool to have a nice view and entered the dining through a door and the staff is rude to tell why we use the door. Then a middle eastern came 2nd to us and greeted them like a King. Very hypocrite staff and unprofessional to be considered 4 star hotel. I do not recommend to any asean's coming for visit or religious stay. You will regret it. Never assist any asean's in table. Even for water they will just point the station for you to help yourself but when middle eastern they move like very fast to give anything they want. It's boils down to improper training in hospitality service. 👎👎👎 Staff is expat but thinks highly of themselves.

I have had bad experience with this hotel before. But this time the experience has been beyond amazing. The rooms are so absolutely gorgeous, spacious, clean and with all possible amenities one could need. the staff is lovely, and the hotel it self is beautiful. A huge thank you for “DAUD” for the amazing hospitality. I have never ever met anyone who goes out of his way to “ENSURE” his guests are comfortable! He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and happy. He was so friendly and genuine. His efforts are truly appreciated. Definitely will recommend this hotel to anyone Who asks because of the amazing customer service provided by “DAUD”. He is an absolute treasure to the hotel. Keep up the good work to everyone at the hotel. Definitely looking forward to the next visit. Best of luck.
