Drnef Hotel Makkah

This hotel is an average hotel It has a good restaurant And the rooms are not Bad as well. And the price it's worth it. The only two things that I have trouble with are 1/they couldn't arrange for laundry cleaning. 2/ there was a smoking cigarette smell in the room.

Room: very clean, awesome bathroom, comfortable beds, nice furniture, free WiFi. Staff: friendly. Location: not very close to the holy mosque (Elharam) but five minutes walking to a bus station that have buses going there all day each 5 or 10 minutes. As a matter of fact I liked the location as it was away from crowdedness. Food: Average, you can eat in the hotel if you are lazy to go out. Value: Very good value for money.

Ok first this hotel is good value for money, HOWEVER it is in the BUNDUS(the sticks) so really not good if you want to be in the gharam a lot. However the shuttle is great very timeously but they drop you off a ways from the gharam and if you bought anything to lug it back is not worth it. One of my concerns is the fact that as you step into the hotel lobby the smell of antiseptic is so strong that any bug stupid enough to smell the air there will instantly die. Being that I am a nurse I really don't want to have the same hospital smell in a hotel I am going to stay in.Granted the place was clean but there are so many other products to use find a different one people please. Now for the room nice big bed fridge that actually works( cold) you know how some hotels have fridges but you could keep your drinks, fruit etc. colder by just leaving them under the aircon but not here.They also have specials of the week so I had the barbequed prawns and fish with some side dishes for only 39SR good value. I loved the unexpected balcony nice and big and you know us South Africans love the sun and outdoors so I did go out even though it was like an oven. The other thing in the room which was weird is there is only two plug points for your phone/devices and not even near the bed. OMG I guess there will be a lot of fighting if the room is shared by others wanting to charge their devices.Now the bathroom was so small that you could literally swing a dead cat in there and be bashed in the head by it coming back around I mean if I turned around I would have run into myself however the shower was good because the water got hot very quickly and they had some great shower gel. The breakfast was ok if you like a middle eastern food then that's ok don't get me wrong I love olives, hummus ,foul and such but not for breakfast but the egg station was good. Again if you want space or have a car then this is the hotel for you
