City Lodge Hatfield

I had the most unpleasant stay at this hotel. The hotel is outdated and has no security features. Anyone can access any floor of the hotel. The location is awful - it is extremely noisy outside, there are always people shouting outside the hotel. There is no number to call reception, housekeeping etc. You have to send a whatsapp to a number and pray to God someone answers. I got ignored on many occasions when I asked for an iron and for someone to fix the lock on the sliding door. When I went to reception, the lady at the desk told me she is busy so she couldn't check the messages.  The breakfast is average. They dont have basics like granola or plain yogurt. I barely ate anything and sampled a stale pastry one morning. On my second day when I asked the waitress for a cappuccino, she just turned to me and said, it will take long and walked away. She later informed me that she was the only one working there. The shower is an experience, it will wet anything and everything,  water shoots out from everywhere. I stayed for 3 nights and the coffee and tea was never replenished. I honestly didn't even bother enquiring as I would have gotten ignored. The TV is also outdated and very small, and does not have much options. Staying here felt like a punishment.

Not great location, too noisy early hours of the morning. No hot water for shower, lukewarm to cold. Guests not told about filling up water themselves in their rooms.

Good service and great staff. Environment is good
