Garden Court South Beach

I recently stayed at Garden Court South Beach and discovered that a pair of my Versus socks was missing from my room. I reported the matter immediately, but the staff member involved denied any knowledge of the item. I left the interaction feeling that the blame had been shifted onto me. Although two staff members came to check the room, the process felt more like a box-ticking exercise than a genuine effort to investigate my concern. I am disappointed by this experience.

The hotel was exceptional, from the moment you enter the building you are greeted with friendly welcoming faces, the check in process was quick. I liked that they let us check in before the allocated check in time , we had arrived a bit early and I was just expecting to drop off my bags and go but to my surprise they said my room was ready that meant we could freshen up before we could go and explore Durban . The view from the swimming pool and from the dining room was breath taking, while we were swimming and eating we had the sea view that was just amazing. The breakfast buffet was great the food was warm and fresh and we had a variety to choose from. The only thing that I was not happy about was the TV we only had the option of an aerial controlled TV even if they were to put the R100 DSTV description it was going to make a huge difference I was with my daughter so after all the activities all she wanted was to unwind with her favorite TV shows, please look into updating this otherwise I was happy with everything. A 9 out of 10 from me .

We had a decent room with good views but air con was inadequate and we had to open the windows to get some air flow which wasn't ideal as Durban is the city that never sleeps and people party until the early hours making it extra difficult to sleep with the noise pollution. The hotel is situated close to the beach with a small pool, but the strip in front of the hotel feels unsafe at nighttime so you need to be extra vigilant as there is a high level of crime and poverty in the area.
