MK Motel

I stayed at the the MK Haeundae for 1 night in June 2014, travelling with my two young children. The MK is a bog-standard local hotel - not quite a love hotel, but not quite a tourist hotel. Firstly, it's very hard to find, and our taxi driver went to the edge of despair in getting us there. Make sure that you have address, phone number and map printed out to give yourself a chance. If you're arriving by subway, it's down the main street (towards the beach) and second turn on your right. The building is bright red. Service was completely non-English speaking, but friendly and eager to please. Check in time is 4pm, and they won't move on that (I suspect that there is a by-the-hour afternoon market there for them). The room itself has huge, with a twin and single bed. The bathroom had a big spa bath and rain shower, while the room had a huge TV and two computers. Expect all the frills with toiletries and tea/coffee selections. Fitout is a bit cheap and nasty, but the room itself was absolutely spotless. The beach is about 5 minutes away, and there are near endless options for grabbing a meal within a couple of minute's walk. Overall, if you can get the MK at a decent price and go in with appropriate expectations, it's fine.

I took my 2 kids (10 and 7) to Haeundae beach for a long weekend. We reserved the family room that was a king sized bed and a single bed on the 8th floor. The room was very clean and stylish with a huge TV. The beds were very firm, but softer than many I've encountered in Korea. My only issue with the room was that there a disco light that my kids begged me to turn on, but that we could never figure out. The only thing we ever asked for was an extra blanket which they brought while we were out. I saw a review that referred to this as a love hotel , but I didn't see or hear anything to indicate that. This was a perfectly fine place for my family. The taxi from Busan train station was about w20,000. While there we visited the UN Memorial Cemetery, Haedong Yonggung Temple, and Haeundae Beach. Tips: Make sure you have the hotel info in Korean with the phone number. The taxi driver needs it for the GPS. Pros: Great location not far from the beach and a surprising selection of food Clean and stylish Cons: No breakfast. We really had to hunt around for a western style breakfast place. Limited English TV selection (I think just Discovery) No TV instructions in English. Just kept hitting buttons until the TV comes on.

Our family book a room thru an airline reservation flight + hotel for 4 persons 2 adults n 2 childs, when we arrived the hotel we got upgraded to a bigger room. The staff personnel are friendly and willing to help. There is these guy who provide us with 2 umbrellas when he knows the weather forecast of the day will rain. It did in the evening and we thanks him 4 his thoughtfulness. The room is clean highly recommended coz its 5mins walk to the subway. Very convenient.
