On Motel

This place looked great on booking.com and for a reasonable price and location I was excited to stay here. Unfortunately from the start it seemed things weren't going to be great. First the taxi driver couldn't find the motel, not the motel's fault but strange given the popularity of the area. Greeting on arrival was poor, no personality from the front desk and no reception area, very cramped. Room was large but not very clean. Bed very uncomfortable. The bathroom was nice though. Upon check out we found it was raining quite heavily, however the receptionist said she couldn't book a cab as none would come leaving us to walk the rain and hail our own taxi. Overall quite disappointed with this hotel, during our entire South Korea trip this was the only one which was poor.

What a surprise! The hotel is hidden away among many other similar hotels, but the decor is what caught my eye. The reception is tiny, no English spoken and I'm certain is based on the trust system. Very good value for money and very accommodating staff. Housekeeper was very helpful. All kinds of gadgets in the room.

Pros: (1.) Location: Easy accessible to subway station (Haeundae Station) and bus station to Haedong Yonggungsa Temple (해동 용궁사). Furthermore, it is in walking distance to the famous Haeundae Beach. (2.) Food: There are plenty of restaurants that serve Korean local meal and chain restaurant, western cuisine, dessert, snacks and drinks nearby the hotel. (3.) Convenience store: You can find one at any corner of the street. Mostly is local mart like CU or GS25. (4.) Cleanliness: The room will be cleaned every day unlike other motels we stayed in Seomyeon and Sasang. (5.) English guidance: It is provided on how to use the remote control for room facilities, coffee machine etc. (6.) Amenities: Toiletries including facial cleanser, toothbrush and tooth paste, shaving gel, bath foam were provided. Cons: (1.) You have to return the key to the receptionist whenever you walk out of the hotel. We find it inconvenient.
