From Incheon Airport we took the Express bus (30 seater) to Gwangju,
Fare: approx.KWR 34,300 pp. Upon arrival at Gwangju U-Square Terminal, we took a taxi to HCTH hotel.(20 minute ride). Taxi fare: Approx. KWR6000/-.
From the outside the building looked quite impressive however on the inside, the rooms
were "jaded", nevertheless of a fairly decent size and the bed was comfortable.
.
However, the bath towels supplied were a disgrace as they were badly frayed and "yukky" - should have been discarded or used as rags. I checked with my friends in the other rooms and were informed that their towels were just as bad. When we rang Reception to ask for new bath towels, we were given 2 hand towels instead. Since I did not bring a bath towel, had no choice but to make use of the 2 hand towels (looked more presentable than the bath towels) . Its advisable to bring your own towel should you decide to stay at the HCTH.
Management should seriously look into the matter of replacing all their bath towels, so as not to "put-off" future guests.
Location-wise fairly close to town. Can't comment on the overall service since we were out most of the time and came back only to sleep.
Will try other hotels the next time I visit Gwangju.

Whilst the hotel is in a good location, the rooms are so dirty. Don't try to move your bed. It will reveal to you just how dirty the carpet is. Didn't have one hot shower in the five nights I stayed. The water temperature never went above warm.

The Hiddink Continental has all the European standards for a good hotel: Restaurant, sauna, rooftopbar etc etc. And you pay for those extra's and not for the room facilities.
The rooms are a little bit outdated, and have a desk, small table with chairs, normal tv, fridge, bath etc. Nothing to complain.
But for less money we had far better rooms with jacuzzi's, big screen tv's, computer on the room etc. in hotel where there were just rooms and no other hotel facilities.
At Hiddink you pay for the facilities outside the room and that's ok if that's what you're looking for. And if you like Guus Hiddink it's also a nice place to stay since the hotel is full with pictures of the Korean team during Worldcup 02. Otherwise I'd pick another hotel.
