Jungmun Village

Simple but nice hotel. Large rooms with cooking facilities. Bathroom clean but not too big. One of the guys speaks sufficient English to help you out. Good service, friendly staff. When you leave the hotel and go left straight over the roundabout and walk/ drive 200 meters there is a small restaurant at your right hand side, lot of led lightning at the front. The owners are so nice and friendly, and we had 3 lovely dinners there. Nice food, low price, excellent service.

We had surprisingly much space, a kitchen and even one bed more than we needed for a price where we mostly found small rooms. Seems the staff does not know much English but is friendly and polite. One thing you should know that it is necessary to turn on the heating when you want warm water. We already knew this from a previous stay so we knew what to look for. Yes, there is a description how to use it, but guess what. Only in Korean, thanks to the Google Translate App we could figure out which button we need to push.

Loved this place not only because could cook own food but affords an authentic village experience away from the 10 min bus ride to ritzy Jungmun Resort complex of resorts (but do check out the lavish Kensington or plush Lotte - tourist sights in themselves). The helpfulness of the proprietress picking us up from the info centre was much appreciated after a gruelling bus ride via #702 - a marathon; take the other option 782 and go back via the short scenic way #740 and do the Mt Hallisan walks half way. She even took us all the way back to a fresh food mart in the town (5km) and helped us shop. Wow - Korean kindness is second to none. The accomodation needs some maintenance/ refurbishment. But for the price, good value, with spacious, bright warm rooms having separate dining-kitchen area and a good sized bathroom with full bath. Distant ocean views via picture window a plus and only a short bus ride from the tourist info centre/town/resorts (#100 going #120 coming).
