Palm Valley Pool Villa Resort

This establishment was one of the most disgusting 'resorts' i have ever stayed in/ seen. A review of my key points of contention are below for reference with pictures attached - The rooms are simply unclean and disgusting - There are thick build ups of dust throughout the accommodation, mould in the bathrooms and a fowl oder in each room throughout the establishment. - The pool will work for a few 'instagram' pictures, however the grounds surrounding the accommodation are horrible unkept and attract small animals throughout the day and night as it is simply not clean - The pictures of the property on websites such as Agoda/ Trip Advisor/ Booking.com are not indicative of what the property actually looks like - It feels like a cheap love motel from the 1980's with the smell to boot. - The Pool is small, cold water (warm water costs approx $100) - The accommodation is infested with bugs, roaches and spiders. My partner suffered a bite on the foot whilst in the room (without any open windows/doors) causing us to need to leave the accommodation to seek medical care. No refund nor credit was provided by the hotel as we didn't visit the management office prior. It needs to be mentioned that the management office was left unattended for 3 hours prior to us needed to seek medical care due to the pain. In review this is not a safe place to bring children, with no staff available when needed given a medical situation (including an unattended communal pool) this 'resort' poses a serious health and safety risk. The uncleanliness of the rooms is simply unacceptable and are unkept, unclean and should be avoided at all costs. Stayed 1 night of a 5 night stay - Left The following day at 11am. We booked this cos we wanted a villa stay. It has an outdoor pool but cos winter, it was icy cold water. We could only use the jacuzzi which was really nice after the travel and hike.Price was more expensive considering there are many accomodation choices but you pay to get what you want. We got lost on our way there but when we arrived, it was almost 8pm. It was dark and we had to move own luggage to the villa. The guy manager was polite but again unlike service we are used to. No conversation, no greetings, just wanted to technically explain and then left. Perhaps cos we check in late. They may expect you to arrive on time. Because we drove all around jeju island, its tough to know when you get back to the hotel. If u booked stay throughout, then you would have the key on Day 1 but as this was our first trip, we wanted to try different types of accommodations. Day 1 was in a hanok stay, Day 2 pension with oceanfront view, Day 3, villa with pool and jacuzzi and Day 4 in a hotel in town nearer to airport. Day 1 was to be further more central and south so we can go either east or west. It was planned that way. The room was like a house; bedroom with attached bathroom and a jacuzzi bath tub, the bed was a good queen size and in between the jacuzzi and the bathroom which is strange design. However, jacuzzi is closer to the outdoor pool. So i suppose the idea was to have the jaccuzzi closer to the pool. Surrounding the pool is the garden overlooking into a forest area. We wonder if there could be animals lurking there but it was just too much twilight movies. As it was cold, we could not go outside too long without our jackets. The villa has all amenities, full kitchen and utensils, etc but u need to cleanup the mess yourself. Dont think they like you to leave a mess. They provide cleaning detergent so no excuse not to clean up. There is even a microwave. There is a fridge too. We happened to have some breads, donuts we bought so we had breakfast our way. We also had some cup noodles. Thank god! We had food. We had bought 3 in 1 capuccino at a mart earlier so we had hot coffee. At the reception we did see a little mart.I suppose you can buy drinks, snacks there too. There is a good size TV but most channels in korean. There are cabinets, sofa, dining tables and chairs so good for family. The entrance has a double door perhaps to keep house warm. There are villas next to us and from garden we could go to the next villa so not private compared to villas in Bali where it is more enclosed. There is a bigger main swimming pool near the reception. As it was winter time, we did not see anyone using it. It is still a good place to stay if you want to spend more time at hotel. However, if you are touring, that is, travel about and just needed a sleepover, this property may not be ideal. This villa would be good for family or couples. Most important you must be driving. Overall still a good experience. Well maintained property. It has everything you need like home.

The room seems OK and the staff although unable to speak English will try to understand what you want. But they do not clean the room and clear the trash although we stay for 2 days and 2 nights. So it's a very unpleasant when you returned to a messy room and full trash bin after your outings. And they also don't top up the toiletries. The bath towers were very small and it's only the size of face towels!! So I have to ask for extra. Quite disappointing overall.
