Hotel Aropa

I stayed 5 nights at this property during my visit to Seoul. The location is right in the center, the strong point of this property; you will be 5 minutes from subways, buses, and all means of transport, and a 10-minute walk from the center of Myeong-dong for shopping. Let's move on to the sore points: breakfast and cleanliness. The breakfast offers nothing sweet, only a very basic packaged strawberry jam, only savory and always the same (it gave me the impression that they recycled everything from the days before) with poor quality. The cleanliness of the dining room is terrible, sticky tables, and the guy at the bar was more intent on looking at his phone than providing service. Room: average size, I had a superior one but the cleanliness was truly poor. At check-in, they told us that they would clean it every 3 days or otherwise on request by clicking the appropriate button in the room. Even though we always clicked it, they only changed our towels and the bathroom trash bag; otherwise, it was never cleaned, not even a sweep of the floors. We left a tissue on the floor and it stayed there for 4 days. The cleanliness of the common areas was also the same, dust, scraps of paper, and in general little attention to cleanliness in every space. It could be a beautiful hotel, but the management leaves something to be desired. I would not return; it was the worst experience of my 3 weeks in Korea. There are many other facilities in the area that look much better from the outside.

The Klaven Hotel is in an excellent location, just a three-minute walk from the subway station and the main shopping streets. There are also plenty of convenience stores right on the doorstep, making it a great base for exploring the city. The hotel staff couldn’t have been more helpful, especially Thibaut at the front desk, who consistently went above and beyond to assist us. The beds were comfortable, and the room was clean and well maintained. The only area that could be improved is the breakfast. There was no fresh fruit, very few vegetables, and the overall selection was quite limited. Fortunately, there are plenty of excellent cafés nearby if you prefer other breakfast options. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would happily stay at the Klaven Hotel again.
