Hi - We have been coming to the Mayplace Seoul Dongdaemun hotel for many years and usually stay for about 3 weeks. We find the service to be of the highest quality. The staff take special efforts to insure our comfort and enjoyment. I would like to thank two specific individuals. Ji Hoheon - Registration process, correspondence, and payment have always gone very smoothly. Mr. Ji greets me every morning, often printing out forms and reports that I need for work that day. He resolves any challenges my students encounter when forgetting their cardkey or losing their breakfast tickets. Yoon Jay - Mr. Yoon often works in the evening and greets us when we return to the hotel each evening. He frequently updates me about events or activity at the hotel, such as fireworks show at Yeouido or window washing at hotel. He remembers us when we return to Seoul every August. I am happy to know that he watches out for us and pays attention to our comfort. We feel cared for very well and look forward to returning here for many more years. Thank you!

I booked a stay through Agoda, paid in full, and received a confirmation. The following day, I was informed by Mayplace that they would not honour the booking. When I checked their Agoda listing, I found that the exact same room was still available, but at a higher price. This is a disappointing and unprofessional way to treat customers. Cancelling a confirmed booking only to relist the room at a higher rate raises serious concerns about the property’s business practices. Prospective guests should exercise caution when booking with Mayplace.

I recommend it for short stays. Small rooms minimal but equipped with the essential, such as shampoo, soap etc. Big flaw is the noisy and non-adjustable ventilation system, and poor soundproofing. The breakfast room is small, but they serve both international and Korean food of good quality.
