SECOND BEIGE

Loved the place - wished I stayed longer here! Booked this place towards the tail end of a two week trip to Korea, in trying to find a place in Seoul that is reasonably price, close to a metro station and also close to a transit method back to Incheon Airport (take bus 6002, the bus stop is directly in front of the main street near the hotel). Place is a no-frills hotel rather than a hostel. Everything was good, room and toilet was clean, decent heating (although it can get quite cold if the temperature drops and the heater is not set properly) and very friendly staff! There is a "common room" (more like a standing kitchen) for you to cook, use the microwave and a washing machine. Water coolers with cold/hot water on every floor. Location-wise is near Dongdaemun Metro Station (Exit 3). Near all the action but in an alley so it's still quiet. A lot of local eateries around the place and also a decent mom-and-pop grocery store (can stock on instant noodles and snacks) and also a good fruit-and-veg store (for your healthy snacking options) in the alley parallel to it. Check-in time was 4PM but they would gladly keep your bags temporarily. No lifts, but again staff was helpful to carry bags upstairs to room (try to keep it light, it'll help them!).

It's called hostel, but rather, it's like a guesthouse. It's close to metro and around 10 mins walk to the shopping paradise Dongdaemun, on the way, there are many 24hrs open restaurants. So, it's pretty safe even you go out in midnight. The airport shuttle bus station is less than 2 mins walk, just right outside the alley. We left the hostel at 5am... and the bus station's full of ppl (heading to work or airport). The reception is not opening 24 hrs, but they got a phone inside so in case receptionist is not here, you can use their phone to call. It's such a thoughtful service as traveler may not have a local phone. The room is clean, but you got to throw your rubbish out the door on your own.

Stayed in Hostel Beige 2 for 6nights. From Line 1 or 4 of Dongdaemun station, take exit 3. Just roughly 3mins from exit 3, take left turn at Woori bank, you will see the hostel in the small alley. Receptionist can speak english very well. No lift though for this 3 story hostel but the staff will assist you in carrying your luggage. Just outside the small alley, there is airport bus stop. We had room 205, double room. Quiet small but we were able to open 2 large luggage. Toilet is clean. There is water dispenser in the floor, so you can refill your water bottles. No housekeeping though, you need to take out your trash bin if you want then to take out the trash. Very near Myeongdong, Cheongyagni (if you are taking ITX train) Few stops away from Insandong, Gyeongbokgung and Itaewon Very accessible.
