Tong Hotel Seoul Dongdaemun

I booked. Waited 4 hours at check in after our flight. Only to find out they hadn't checked their hostel world account so didn't see the booking. Left with short notice to find new accommodation. Place wasn't very clean. Staff were not helpful. Do not stay here

In terms of location, Travel Monster is great, less than 5 mins walk to Jongro-5-ga station and also near many bus stops. However, it is in a small alley, and at night looks a little dodgy (we got weird looks walking into it) since there are no lamps and its next to a karaoke and some other entertainment-type place. Also - not that soundproof, as you can hear the karaoke until 2am. The room was basic - beds, window facing the alley, TV, a kettle (that kept switching off though it did boil the water eventually) and a mini-fridge - and mostly clean. Bathroom is in need of renovation - marks on the toilet, rust stains on the floor from a pipe, and towels that are a little hard. The towels and signs also show the previous name of the hotel - Hotel Tong. There's no shower curtain. They provide shampoo and body wash. We didn't spend much time in the hotel, but the beds were comfy enough and the location was great. Just wish it had better soundproofing and a nicer bathroom. Staff were fine.

I went to Seoul for my holidays on April and Stayed at Tong Dongdaemun , it was impressed as my first time in Seoul , I was worried about travel but glad I have chosen here , place very closed to Subway and all comfortable and convenience around , easy to look around Seoul and staff helpful even their English not perfect I wish to come back again
