This hotel doesn't look and feel much like a hotel quite frankly. It is in a mixed use building, there is no typical hotel lobby only a kind of waiting lounge with mail boxes and other boxes, plus a check in office. Hotel feel - not at all. The room is small, has a kitchenette, dining table, comfortable bed. Not spacious but well appointed and everything works. Best is the location, train station just out front, walking distance to the heart of Gangnam, location is just excellent, easy to get everywhere and not far from the action at all. For shorter stays I would recommend a proper hotel, for long stays this hotel is recommendable.

I visited Seoul with my parents for 9 days in November 2016, and they made the reservation for this hotel. When I saw the lukewarm reviews (and my parents commented that it was nothing special), I was a little apprehensive about our stay. I was pleasantly surprised that our room was spacious, clean, and had new furnishings. The kitchenette appliances were not new, but in good condition and plentiful (microwave, toaster, electric kettle, rice cooker). As others have commented, there is no shower curtain in the bathroom, which can create a wet mess. The bathroom was clean and looked recently renovated. There was plenty of storage in cabinets and dresser drawers. There was no decor and no lamps, just a lot of overhead lighting that was bright. The traditional ondal heating was an unexpected treat. The floor is heated and the room was toasty warm (there is a climate control setting on the wall). When we arrived in the evening, a maintenance man happened to be on our floor and helped us with our bags and showed us the temperature control, water heater dial, and how to turn on gas for the stove. The kitchen had settings and chairs for only two people and it took 2 days of requests to get a third chair in the room. The hallway has not been renovated and looks shabby. There is construction next door to the hotel and might ultimately affect the view from rooms. From the 8th floor, the construction noise was minimal and started at 7:00 a.m. The Eonju subway (No. 9 line) is just steps away from the hotel entrance (which is off the side of the main road) and is beautiful and new. The KAL limousine bus to Incheon stops at a bus stop on the street in front of Hotel Samjung and is a 4 minute walk up the hill. There is a 7 Eleven next to the hotel, but there are also 2 CU stores close by that are a little bigger and nicer. We had pastries from Paris Baguette which is catty corner from the hotel and kim bap from a little restaurant up the street from Burger King (one vegetable roll was 2500 won or $2.13). When I tried to look up the hotel on the website, I could not find the room rates, so I would recommend you call the hotel directly. The hotel provided a hair dryer, soap, dish soap, iron, ironing board, and large drying rack for clothes (which was good for drying towels since rooms are cleaned every 3 days). Lastly, the staff was very nice. At first, they were responsive but a little aloof, but they warmed up and were very cordial.

Actually I stayed here over 60-70 nights around 2years. Almost time I spent here when I was in Seoul for biz trip. Here is residence hotel. Few rooms are old one but if you booking renovated room type on the booking site, you can enjoy better than old one. (Almost 15,000-20,000KRW higher than old one) Near the hotel, you can find several restaurants and conveniences for you trip. This hotel looks cost effective accommodation place in Seoul to me. I recommend to travellers and biz trip people.
