This hotel has a very chic, business boutique feel with a focus on sustainability, which I really liked. The check-in process is modern with digital registration, and while some staff may have difficulty speaking English, they are genuinely helpful and do their best to assist. There’s a luggage weighing scale on the 2nd floor, though I found it a bit inconvenient having to drag my suitcase up there. On the bright side, there’s a small snack and drinks area beside the check-in counter, which I found very thoughtful especially after a long flight. The location is practical, with a convenience store just across the hotel. Breakfast is good as well, though it’s served just outside the hotel but still very accessible since it’s right beside the property. Do note that the hotel is a bit far from Myeongdong, so it may require some travel if you plan to visit the main shopping areas. The room I stayed in was on the smaller side, but still manageable and comfortable. I also liked that you can simply open the window at night instead of using the air conditioning, which adds to the eco-friendly vibe.

The hotel room was not bad overall. The room size was decent, I only stayed for one night so I didn't really have enough experience but the front desk staff's impression was not great. However, I appreciated him for helping me to call a taxi when I asked.

La Casa has always been my go to hotel whenever I visit Seoul. Its small and charming and it's at the centre of everything. However, my recent trip was tainted by the poor attitude of the reception - a female staff who was very rude to me and my colleagues. We were there for work(photo shoots) and had to leave bags and boxes at the reception for collection and she(with another male staff) was grumbling at us for leaving too many parcels with them. They also rudely demand that we need to get them cleared asap. They have never greeted nor smiled at us during our one week stay. Unlike another male fan-skinned staff whom we recognised from our previous trips and has always been nice and helpful. On a particular rainy day, we asked her for help to call a transport and she bluntly turned us down. I reprimanded her for her bad attitude and rudeness and she did not even bother to explain nor apologise. I don't think there will be returning guests with reception that behave like this. Also, the hotel looks tired as wall corners, carpets look to be wearing out. I love the hotel but not anymore.
