Alpha Guest House

This was the worst hostel stay I've ever had in my life (if you are bored to read, just check the vid below). At first, I had been provided a different kind of room from what I've booked: the manager said single rooms are sold out, so placed me into a dormitory room right behind their registration counter and common space, but for single usage (i.e. no other people there). I wasn't happy about this, because in that common space there were some elder Chinese women (supposedly relatives or staff: owners aren't Korean, but from China) and a noisy kid. However, manager assured me that kid is leaving before evening, so I thought that gonna be OK. It was kinda OK until check-out day. Check-out time is 12 PM, however I was woken up by kids screams about 11 AM. Being quite disturbed for lack of sleep, I went out, saw a kid and one of those women and asked, why this noise and why they can't keep a kid in their room or elsewhere. In reply got: "We can't do anything, it's a kid". I went back to my room, packed my things, came out again and said, that I can check out right now, since cannot sleep anyway, but wanna talk to the manager first (I had upcoming bookings and wanted to request put me in their other building to avoid such problems). To my surprise, the woman gets angry, starts scolding me, telling me to get out right now and threatening with police. Then she took my bag and threw it across the room, said that won't call the manager and demanded me to get out right now. Never again.

I don't recommend this hostel. I stayed here for four nights and rented a single room. The room itself was okay but the room was super dirty! Everywhere was hair, on the floor and even in my bed. It wasn't cleaned. The bathroom wasn't cleaned in ages. Also, the owners didn't speak any English. I think for the price I paid you have better hostels than this.

This was our first trip to South Korea, Alpha was both perfectly located for our needs and the price was right. This is more of a share house with other guests, the room were small but clean and they are located in the center of all things that were of interest to us. Close to Yonsei University was a must.
