Kimchee Hongdae Guesthouse

So we were lost and we didn’t found our hostel, no WiFi and the guys at the desk were really not helpful. They just said : no sorry, we can’t help” and they ran out. It’s too bad because it’s a great location. But the customs services is for me a priority.

worst hostel I've ever stayed at. The hostel I stayed in is in Hongdae area, well located in my opinion (if you like nightlife, party, on a budget etc). that's the only plus. Most important points about this place: - no separate shower room. one tiny toilet per floor with a shower. 2 in 1. the sink was leaking, there was water coming out of it. - dirty room, everything was dirty, dirty bathroom - entrance door is open 24/7, at night there's noone at the reception, anyone can walk in - each guest gets a drawer. you can rent a padlock (3000 won) to close your drawer - rent an adaptor (3000 won) - coat hanger broken, can't be used - rent is really cheap, that's a plus - 20 min walk from Hongik University station. Summary: there are other much better hostels at the same price.

I stayed at the Downtown and Dongdaemun Kimchee guesthouse, and it was better than this one!! They do not have someone to come and clean the room daily, and so it was dirty and nasty. The room wasn't clean when I checked into it!! I stayed on the top bunk near the fan, and it was nasty and dirty. There were mold on the cord, and it was so disgusting!! I expected this Kimchee guesthouse to be similar to the ones at their downtown and Dongdaemun locations, but no, this location was terrible and nasty. I even got bed bugs from it!!!! My back itch, and I got three big red spots!!! I forgot to bring my towel to sleep on top of it!!! I would never come back to this location!! I would pay the extra money for better, clean and nicer location. Also, there is no keys or lock for the door, so anyone could come and go as they pleased!! I think that is dangerous and not safe for the guests!!! Was very disappointed that I couldn't have any privacy or people can just go and come open the door as they pleased!! Also, some guests are so loud outside the door!!!! Ugggh overall horrible experience, and I would never return!!!!
