Virxe da Cerca

Conveniently located near shopping, bus line, Cathedral. Parking is an issue. Dripping water at night (leak above us? Condensation from A/C?) Roommate almost tripped on puddle on floor. Breakfast room was very pleasant and bright. Great variety of food and drink. Receptionist was friendly and stored our luggage while we toured the area before taking a train back to Madrid in the afternoon.

Beautiful old inn right by the old town of Santiago de Compostela, making all sights reachable on foot. We had a large room (very tastefully decorated) with a balcony. The bed is at most queen-size and therefore too narrow for us. The sleeping comfort suffered because of it. The breakfast is of modest quality and does not make one particularly look forward to breakfast! The fact that only one fully automatic coffee machine is available is unacceptable, as this leads to very long wait times. The service's remark that the owner does not want to buy a second one is more than annoying, since this inn is relatively large and the endless waiting for a coffee is accepted! Annoying! The excessive plastic at breakfast is also annoying from a sustainability perspective.

Wonderful hotel. Front desk was fast and efficient. Located right in the heart of everything in Santiago. Super Clean and smells amazing! The courtyard was a beautiful respite after a day of touring Santiago. They have a wonderful bar area and lots of cozy seating nooks if the weather doesn't permit sitting outdoors. The history of the hotel is interesting as well. We rested well on their comfy beds and quiet rooms, and the bathrooms were well appointed.
