Eguren Ugarte Hotel

Our suite was beautiful and spacious with a large balcony overlooking the vineyards. Breakfast was also great.

We traveled here with a small baby and my in-laws because some friends from La Rioja recommended this place to us. Although the site, the hotel, and the rooms are beautiful, the experience was horrible. The winery is very nice, but the wine tasting consisted of the lady serving us three different wines in THE SAME GLASS, without any possibility of even rinsing it with water between tastings. After the tasting, we wanted to stay in the restaurant area next to the store to eat something and try another wine. The waitress, clearly tired and in a bad mood, told us that there was no possibility of eating anything, but that she could sell us some bagged potato chips. Let us remember that the winery is several kilometers from the nearest town and that those who stay there do not have many other options for eating. That there wasn't even a baguette or something simple seemed really regrettable to us. We had a table reserved for dinner at 9:00 PM. We had not chosen a menu because among us there are vegan people and others who do not eat fish, so we wanted to order from the menu. We arrived on time and hungry. The waitress gave us the menus... and disappeared for 25 minutes. Meanwhile, she was clearing plates from other tables, accompanying other customers, serving dishes and desserts. My husband tried several times to get her attention and she simply smiled and went to another place. After 27 minutes, we got up and went to have dinner in Laguardia. The entire experience was embarrassing, and we would never recommend it to anyone. The place is beautiful, yes, but the service is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. There are many better ways to spend money.

Superb hotel in a magnificent setting. The view of the vineyards is breathtaking; do not hesitate to book the premium room with its large terrace to enjoy it to the fullest. Very pleasant staff, excellent ribeye at the cellar restaurant, and a great dinner in the evening. Do not miss the visit to their cellar.
