Hotel Juan Carlos I

We chose this hotel because it would be suitable for disabled people. First, there is a small staircase with 3 steps at the entrance. There were no showers, only baths. My husband is not well and had trouble with the stairs at the entrance without a railing, it was difficult to get out with the wheelchair. We had reserved without canceling otherwise we would have left. - 3 of the staff were friendly and helpful, 1 had trouble being friendly and a 5th was outright rude. - Wifi doesn't do this, it was reported, but they did nothing about it. I still had to send some business emails. - Ostensibly the bathroom looks clean, but the dark grout lines were mold. - It is a dated furnishing, this is not bad as long as it is clean. There were many edges where a layer of dust lay. There was a lot of old dust around the doorposts. - The bathroom is big enough that there could be a cabinet or shelf for the toilet paper. - Very small bed 140 wide, the room is big enough for a larger bed. and the sheet was still too small and didn't even cover the mattress. - 1 day having breakfast here from the menu. I ordered toast with salmon and a Caesar sauce. This became a toasted sandwich with melted cheese, luckily the salmon was not warmed with grated carrot, the strangest combination that wasn't even tasty. This was reported, but it was said that this was the salmon with Caesar sauce, as they always serve it. Had a lovely breakfast the next day at Cafetería Julia, with delicious rolls.

We arrived at 3:30 PM and none of the air conditioners were working correctly. In one room, the filters were completely dirty and, upon removing them, cold air started to come out. In the other, the duct air conditioning was not cooling at all, not even when set to 16 ºC. They told us that the hotel was full and there were no rooms available. They told us that maintenance would come at 5:00 PM, then at 6:00 PM. At 6:30 PM we had to go down to the front desk because no one had fixed anything. Finally they offered us another room, but it had exactly the same problem. By then it was 7:00 PM and we had been waiting for a solution for more than three hours. They offered us a third room, but after everything that happened we didn't even want to go in to check it. We just wanted to leave. At 4:00 PM they tell us there are no rooms and by 7:00 PM they had already offered us up to three… At 7:15 PM we managed the cancellation with Booking and at 7:35 PM we left the hotel. A breakdown can happen, but three hours of waiting, lack of maintenance, and such poor management are unacceptable. An experience to forget and a hotel we will not return to.

We stayed at this hotel for only one night. The hotel is very pretty and is very centrally located, surrounded by many restaurants with terraces. The room was very spacious and clean. The bathroom was also very clean. We liked it a lot.
