Hostal Mendez Nunez

Excellent location bang in the heart of the city. 2 min walk to Marina, Plaza Espana. 5 min walk to beach. 10 min walk to tram line which is really cheap and runs on time. Cross the road and your in the old town with such a large choice of cafes and restaurants. We upgraded to a superior rooms which was fab. On the 6th floor with an amazing view of the castle. Rooms were spotless and a fab waterfall shower. Kettle supplied with Tea but no Coffee. Aircon was a godsend. Loved it here and loved Alicante. So much to see and do. Cant wait to come back hopefully before the end of the year.

I find it embarrassing for a hotel to charge €150 for the room, and when we returned from lunch, they had not even cleaned the room or replaced towels, toilet paper, or gel. We went down to reception, and they told us that the cleaning staff only cleans from 10 AM to 12 PM, and that’s just how it is. We requested that a manager or person in charge come, and no one appeared. I find it embarrassing that they do not provide services or explanations. I will not return and do not recommend it; there are many better hotels in the area that cost the same.

We recently spent a week at this hotel, and were sad to leave. We had a superior twin room on the 4th floor and were very happy with it. It wasn't massive but it was clean and comfortable, They provide a kettle and fridge and we found Yorkshire tea in the nearby supermarket! The bathroom had a lovely big walk in shower.. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The location is perfect. There are cafes nearby for breakfast, and just across the road is the picturesque old town, where you'll find lots of restaurants
