Melia Hotel de la Reconquista

An old property that has been well maintained in a good location with secure underground parking and plenty of character. The room was perfectly adequate as was the breakfast. The staff members were all excellent.

This hotel has not been rated 5 stars in a long time. I stayed this week two nights: dirty carpet, shower is road motel, wall cloth, dirty. Only one almost flush plug is available and another in the bathroom. The lamps in the room do not charge the devices. I think because of the size of the magazine legs. And the icing: not being able to have breakfast because breakfast, which they say starts at 07:00, is not true. Yesterday, Wednesday, April 29, the hot dishes were taken out at 07:45. Having to leave around 7-7:15, I ask for breakfast in the room paying the room service supplement... because there is no room service. It was “taken away a few days ago”It only works for a few hours. Solution: I can get a juice and a couple of things in a bag. I say no, I paid 20€ for breakfast and that is not breakfast. I ask for the money back. They refused. They finally agreed when I said it wasn’t serious and it was shameful the ruse of charging for one service and offering another of lower category. The staff... a little bit of everything. Some people shouldn’t be facing the public, or serving a table they don’t know how to serve. Such an emblematic hotel for Oviedo, cannot be in the hands of running an establishment of this supposed category. They are not even able to center the bed headboard pictures
