The hotel itself was good, the reception staff were friendly. Rooms a little on the small side but clean. The downfall was the food, breakfast was ok but dinner each day was bland and much the same, little choice and so so dry. The staff in canteen were sullen

Upon arrival staff were welcoming and friendly and check in was an easy process. I was delighted with my single room, big enough for myself but the no fridge was a let down. The pool area is a pool area, it’s clean and tidy with sunbeds, tables and chairs. The bar staff were ok, miserable but hey ho. Reception staff on the other hand, lovely! The noise from the hotel can be very disturbing, it was full of students so the lobby was very loud a lot of the time and round the pool they were very rowdy and every single sunbed was taken by these teenagers. The cleaners start their rounds very early so there’s no chance of a sleep in, they make it known they’re on the corridors, no consideration for anybody sleeping. Snacks from the bar were basic but enough to fill a hole. Breakfast and dinner were a let down, I’m not a big breakfast eater anyway so opted for cereal each morning but this had to be eaten with warm milk as they don’t refrigerate the milk. Dinner, I’ve attached photos. It was very fish based so out of the 4 nights I stayed, I ate once and opted to eating out, as this was a business trip I was lucky enough to have the funds to be able to do this. You also only get water included with your evening meal, I didn’t expect a coke for free but some sort of juice like at breakfast would have been nice. The area in which the hotel is (this is no fault of the hotel) is very smelly, it smells of bins which can be quite strong especially when it’s hot outside and makes sunbathing unpleasant. The area itself is nice but you do have to walk from your coach drop off to the hotel for around 6/7 minutes so make sure you can access maps or you’ll be stuck, the drop off spot is your pick up spot, so be aware of this. If you’re checking out early, but you don’t leave till later, ensure your phone is charged as there is no charger spots around reception.

Hotel Miami Calella, on a positive the downstairs of the hotel is really nice, the staff work really hard and a shout out to Lewis (Bar Manager) & his team who were really polite & hard working. Food was okay, but didnt stay hot. They have a small buffet table which could do with being upgraded to fit the size of the hotel & number of guests they serve. Negatives - bedrooms are really basic, do not match the luxury feel of downstairs, plus only two sockets, one in the living area & one in the bathroom, no fridge, no English channels on TV, have to ask for a plug for the bath, no kettle, no hairdryer or iron supplied. No entertainment on at the hotel. Issue with pool, had to ask them to clean it, they said the maintenance man had missed some areas, but it was really dirty. Not enough umbrellas. Although the hotel is clean and the staff work hard, they need to decide on whether the hotel is for holiday guests or exchange / sports students, as during our 10 day stay we experienced real issues with the number of students ( 2 lots of exchange students, 3 lots of sport students) who were very rude and ran riot throughout the hotel whilst their teachers sat there drinking and not controlling them, had no respect for other guests. The hotel seemed to go out of their way to ensure the students / sports teams were accomodated but not their holiday guests.
