Hotel 1898

We loved everything about Hotel 1898. Excellent location, spotlessly clean, very comfortable room with a great breakfast. Staff were super friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the Spa after a long day exploring the city and relaxing at the bar on the roof terrace watching the sunset was definitely our favourite experience ! Will definitely book another stay in the future.

Staff was very pleasant and friendly. Lobby was big, very clean, comfortable and appealing. Rooms was very clean and spacious. Patio off the room was spacious and plenty of room to sit or lounge outside. Roof top view of Barcelona. Hotel is accessible and easy walking distance to shopping and restaurants.

Great hotel, well located, lovely rooftop terrace and pool, great spa with pool, sauna and steam room. Like an oasis of calm in a hot and vibrant city! Staff were friendly and courteous throughout, with only one exception. On our first morning (19th July) at breakfast we ordered 3 coffees: 2 cappuccinos and one latte. The lady we asked said, and I quote, “what is latte? It all goes in the same cup”. Italians everywhere would, I’m sure disagree, but that’s not the point. The point is that no member of hotel staff should ever speak to a guest in that way. It’s certainly the first time I’ve experienced service like that anywhere in the world. We were completely taken aback. However, that one bad experience does not take away from an otherwise very enjoyable stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to Barcelona.
