Centre Esplai Hostel

I booked for one person, they gave me a room with four bunk beds. It is okay, but I did not feel safe, the man at the front desk repeated my room number to me several times, and he also smelled of alcohol. Sad room, like something out of --Shawshank Redemption. The air conditioning was on full blast, luckily I knew how to turn it off. It is a shame they spent a lot on the construction, apart from the cafeteria, the garden, the rooms are of two categories> the most basic ones and the more ''acceptable'' ones. The basic ones are very basic, and they also look like a correctional facility.

“A real hostel... certainly not a hotel... but the environment is friendly and welcoming” I expected a completely different situation from the photos and reviews I had seen. Certainly the thing that is striking is that it is located in a really ugly neighborhood on par with Secondigliano! I would avoid it just for this... in fact, yesterday as soon as we arrived I immediately looked for an alternative solution. The room is large but certainly not impressive, it looks like a prison cell, the same goes for the bathroom which has an iron sink like on trains... and there is no shower tray, it is the floor. The air conditioning is not controllable and is always on at freezing temperatures even at night, bring long pajamas. Unfortunately, breakfast leaves no doubt either! However, the staff is kind, the environment is friendly, there are families with children, young couples, and many disabled young people who are doing rehabilitation nearby. So in the end the general impression is good. Also because the price makes the difference. If you have a spirit of adaptation and want to spend little I recommend it! I will not return unfortunately because I don't have this spirit... but it was an experience. Compliments to the lady at the breakfast buffet.. super fast and super attentive.. 1000 times better than the staff of 4-star hotels!! Nice smile and great friendliness. Thanks anyway. Beautiful and well-kept garden.. you can see the love for what they do anyway... it's a non-profit association!

Stayed for one night as it is near the airport. There is nothing near by, hardly any shops or places to eat. The hostel it self was basic, did the job for one night but me and my friends are covered in bites after staying here I think it’s the mosquitoes in the room
