AC Hotel Gava Mar by Marriott

Great hotel - much better than pictures think these were pre revamp - outside is lovely and relaxing eating great breakfast overlooking tranquil gardens and pool. Straight through gate onto beach. Sunloungers and umbrellas round pool (need to take own for beach). Didn’t realise there was a free shuttle into Barcelona (place d’Espagne) where you could then walk or get metro. (Daytime only - public bus on way back was fine ans close). Also bikes to cycle down lovely promenade and paddleboards to use in sea all included. So great for a relaxing beach and city break.

Lovely place and unexpected. Booked this as it is near the airport and convenient. Old reviews are terrible but this place is fully refurbished and really lovely and modern. Staff couldn‘t be nicer too. Can only recomend this hotel.

I made a booking for two nights (June 26–28) on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 7:00 PM. Already on Saturday morning, I realized that I had made a mistake with the date and that the booking was made a month too early. Consequently, I immediately contacted the hotel and reported the error. Despite this quick notification, within less than 24 hours, my cancellation request was denied. The booking conditions were fully insisted upon, without any concession or goodwill. I am aware that cancellation policies must be adhered to. In this case, however, I would have expected a certain degree of flexibility and customer orientation due to the immediate notification and the obvious error. The handling of my concern was disappointing and, in my view, not customer-friendly. For this reason, I unfortunately cannot recommend the hotel.
