AC Hotel Sant Cugat by Marriott

I had an absolutely amazing experience at the AC Hotel Sant Cugat. From the moment I arrived, the service was top-notch. The rooms were spotless, modern, and very quiet—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The hotel’s location is ideal: close enough to downtown to enjoy all the excitement, yet far enough away for a peaceful night’s sleep. The train/subway station is within walking distance, making it easy to commute anywhere in the area. As a Platinum Bonvoy member, I didn’t receive complimentary breakfast and there’s no lounge access (the property doesn’t have one). Additionally, there aren’t any stores or restaurants within walking distance. Despite those minor drawbacks, the service, location, and atmosphere were excellent. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area—and I’ll definitely be back!

About 30 minutes with the local train from Placa Catalunia lies Sant Cugat , sort of a laid back satellite to busy Barcelona. If its not your first time in Barca and you have seen most of the tourist magnets of the city. It is a much cheaper and very nice hotel to stay at. It has a large pool in the back and thromms are air conditioned and very spacious. The breakfast is buffet style with a chef that cooks eggs and omelettes to your liking.

I hadn't been here for around 10 years but the hotel was very much as I remember it from back then only it seems less busy. My room was near the lift on the first floor. Normally I would reject such a room on principle but there was very little disturbance from guest traffic. The room itself was clean and made up every day. Toiletries were provided and a nice touch were the little extras like a comb, dental kit and shoe cleaning mitten. My only criticisms of the room is that it was a bit dark and could do with better lighting (this is a style across the AC range). The safe didn't work. Foodwise the breakfast was good with cereal, continental and hot food available. Evening meals were a bit hit and miss with the cheeseburger being a miss but the caesar salad and the sirloin steak were definitely hits. Wifi worked fine. Undergound parking was actually ok for once in a Spanish hotel with plenty of spaces. The staff were all fine and especially Erica who was working on the bar in the evenings. Credit also to Sergio who actually made checkout quite fun.
