Single rooms are a good size, but have no safe for valuables. It is a worry too have to carry these with you all the time.
The sink in the shower room has no plug closure, which makes cleaning contact lenses in an open sink perilous.
Breakfast has to be pre-ordered, and you are rationed to one small cup of lukewarm coffee. You can get better breakfast a few doors away, and cheaper.
Some ground floor staff need re-training in customer care service, as it is not acceptable to "tut" at somebody asking a question or making a request.
There is no general relaxation area in the hotel, merely a cafe bar at the entrance.
Housekeeping of the rooms is impeccable.
Hotel location is excellent.

Right hotel, good value for money, do not recommend breakfast, right next door is a shop that is open and you can buy food.
It is close to the metro and buses, there are bikes to rent right at the door.

The hotel is outdated, the rooms are dirty, and cleaning is not done properly. The hallways are dark and outdated. Breakfast is served in the lobby right next to the entrance from the street - in November, it was extremely cold and uncomfortable to eat there, as every time the doors opened, a blast of cold air came in.
The staff is unfriendly, and at times, outright disrespectful. For example, one staff member spoke only Spanish, and when I said I didn’t understand, she didn’t apologise — she simply continued speaking Spanish.
The breakfast is extremely limited: four slices of sausage, one slice of ham, a croissant, and some muesli. Only one cup of coffee. When I asked whether it would be possible to get a little cucumber or tomato with breakfast (as I have diabetes and cannot eat bread), I was told, “In Spain, we don’t eat that for breakfast.”
The hotel's intro says that rooms are fully soundproofed - in reality, the room had poor sound insulation and I could hear my neighbours talking. The hotel claims to be quiet — but it's not. Street noise made it difficult to sleep. In addition, there were major construction works on nearby La Rambla with constant noise, yet there was absolutely no information about this on the hotel’s website.
Overall, this is much more like a hostel than a hotel and definitely does not deserve three stars.
In summary, the worst experience I’ve ever had. I absolutely do not recommend staying here.
