Chic & Basic Born

I enjoy my stay. The staff are amazing, always friendly and helpful. The location is prime and the rooms are definitely chic in decor that I like.

We got a room on the street. Which is not soundproofed. The elevator made loud noises so you couldn't sleep through a night. The wish for two single duvets was not fulfilled and the bathroom had not been properly cleaned on arrival. Sticky stains and hair on the tiles were also not removed during cleaning. This is my third visit to Barcelona and this is my worst experience with a hotel here. Even if the hotel is old, you can still maintain it.

The location, staff, and ambiance were just great. Fine breakfast and the common area with coffee and tea was pleasant. This is a perfect place for all the fun of El Born. Countless bars, restaurants, and shops are within blocks. As others have mentioned, the beads in the hallway are funky. They look fun, but hit one in the face when walking and make moving through with luggage a bit of a challenge. The room really has no privacy in the shower and sink areas, so if you are light sensitive and have different sleep schedules, things get a bit cozy. That aside, loved our veranda, the clean and light room, and the kind staff.
