Eric Vokel Gran Via Suites

⚠️ Terrible communication and clueless after-hours support during a blackout! We stayed at the Eric Vökel Barcelona Gran Via at the end of June 2026. While the apartment itself was perfectly fine, the management and support during an emergency were completely unacceptable. The Incident & After-Hours Chaos: Around 6:00 PM, the building completely lost electricity (we weren't sure if it was a city-wide grid issue or specific to the building). We decided to head out for dinner. At 10:30 PM, we called the hotel to see if the power had been restored. This was critical because the front door is electronic, there are no staff on-site after hours, and without power, you literally cannot get into the building. The after-hours support line was shockingly clueless. Even though there is only one Eric Vökel Barcelona Gran Via location, the agent didn't even know where the hotel was and kept repeatedly asking me for the exact address. They had absolutely no idea what the status of the power situation was. The Next Day: When I approached the front desk staff the following morning, they completely brushed it off. They blamed the power outage entirely on the city grid and took zero responsibility for the fact that they completely failed to communicate with their guests during a safety and lockout risk. The Apartment itself: To be fair, the actual room was as advertised. We stayed in a 3+2 top-floor apartment. It was clean, had good amenities, and was perfectly fine for our stay. The location is decent, though it is not very central. Summary: The rooms are nice, but if any emergency happens after hours, you are entirely on your own with a support team that doesn't even know where the building is located. Proceed with caution.

Spacious & Spotless: Both the Barcelona and Hamburg apartments were incredibly spacious, beautifully designed, and spotlessly clean. It was so nice to have room to stretch out after long days of walking and exploring. The Ultimate Amenity (In-Unit Laundry): Traveling through Europe for 10 days with only carry-on luggage is a challenge, but having an in-unit washer and dryer was an absolute game-changer. It made our trip incredibly seamless and stress-free. If you are looking for the perfect blend of hotel-level service and apartment-style living in Europe, look no further. We will definitely be staying with Eric Vökel again on our next trip!
