Good hotel in Molins de Rei, a 10-minute walk to the train station that takes you to downtown Barcelona in half an hour. Good breakfast, a special thanks to the very kind Maria Luisa who prepared breakfast for us on the day of departure

2 nites of no sleep it is right next to a club that blares music all night . It’s 4:30 in the morning still going. People hang around all night talking and yelling outside.

I still experience anxiety when I think of this place. Up until this trip we were almost exclusively IHG people. It went as follows: We arrived late in the evening driving from France. At check-in, my husband and I provided our French residence cards, and we're asked for our children's passports as well. We did not bring them (yikes!) but had digital copies of the passports and French visas. The woman at reception refused to check us in. I asked for the manager on call for an hour to see if there was anyway to check in for the night and reevaluate in the morning (reservation for 5 nights so we had time). I was told it wasn't an emergency and she refused to call the manager - exact wording was it was my emergency not hers. She also told us not to bother going to the police because they wouldn't help (?...ok, we didn't ask but thanks for nothing). We left and began a frantic search for a hotel for the evening, only to remember that we always carry the children's French DCEM in the vehicle as we travel by car often. We returned to the hotel to provide the documentation that proves identity and family relationship (which is all that is required by Royal Decree 933/2021). The same woman refuses to allow us to check-in. Very long story short, we found accommodations for the night (which the hotel did not even blink at the identification provided) and booked a plane ticket for my husband to fly home to retrieve passports. We were out over €700. The worst part is when we met with the day manager the next day, she apologized profusely for the treatment and stated the woman should have called her because our emergency was her emergency. She also asked why we didn't go to the police because they could have helped in this situation (!!!! - are you kidding me???). We requested a refund for the first night as it was clearly poor service and a breach of contractual agreement because we provided the required documentation. The woman's ignorance should not be our consequence. The manager had to speak with the regional manager. The regional manager offered the equivalent of €10 in IHG points. We were incredibly insulted and requested to meet with the RM - as he was often on property. Conveniently, he was always on the phone. Always. For 5 days. The hotel now has a pretty notice on their page that lists what they accept as acceptable documentation for minors - which is beyond what other IHG properties in Spain require. When we contacted IHG about this experience, they did nothing. We continue to travel and I no longer filter for IHG properties. The other woman at check-in apologized the following night and stated she tried to talk her coworker into proceeding with check-in. I told her I really appreciated the apology, but she should have called the manager when she knew what was happening wasn't right. She agreed. The rest of the staff was incredibly kind and polite. I think they felt sorry for us
