Hotel Barcelona Condal Mar By Melia

Good location for the Barcelona conference centre, but nowhere near worth the price. My stay was extremely disappointing. The bedding in my room was not cleans. There was hair in the bed and had a visible blood stain. The hotel then moved me to another room, but due to an unclear room number written on the key, I was mistakenly directed to an occupied room. No apology or assistance with my belongings was offered. Check-in was chaotic, with a very long queue and staff clearly unprepared for the number of guests, despite a major conference nearby. The room was advertised as having an iron, but none was available when needed. After contacting reception, I eventually obtained one at around 5pm, far too late for a business traveller. The bedding arrangement also felt substandard, with the duvet filling placed between two flat sheets rather than enclosed in a proper cover. Given the cleanliness issues, this was particularly concerning. The restaurant was equally disappointing, serving mediocre food and it lacked atmosphere. The property has potential and the location is convenient, but the cleanliness, room-number error, poor communication, chaotic service and lack of basic amenities were unacceptable at this price.

Horrible experience! Unfortunately my bag got stolen in the hotel lobby by a stranger who was apparently not a hotel guest and should not have been able to access the lobby. What was even more disappointing was the hotel’s lack of hospitality after the incident. No apology, no one came to check on us, no one asked if we needed anything. It feels like this happens often. On top of that the rooms are dirty and old. Not worth the price! Only good thing is the bar staff.

A really lovely hotel, beautiful clean rooms, good facilities, great breakfast. The only annoyance was the slow elevator, you don't have to rush 😅 Nice shopping center within walking distance and also several bus, tram, metro connections. Taxis to the Sagrada, fountains etc. are affordable, around €20, and you are there within fifteen minutes. Public transport is cheaper but it takes +/- an hour to get there. Definitely susceptible to repetition.
