Somnio Hostels

I stayed here as a solo traveler and booked a twin room with a private bathroom. Overall, it was a really good experience, especially for the price and location. They were kind enough to allow me an early check-in, which I really appreciated after traveling—I was able to rest a bit before heading out to explore Barcelona. The location was one of the main reasons I chose this place, and it did not disappoint. It’s easily accessible from the airport by bus, and getting around the city is convenient with nearby subway and bus options. It was also easy to reach train stations and meeting points for small group tours. Plus, it’s only about a 5–10 minute walk to Casa Batlló and Casa Milà, with plenty of shops along the way. There are plenty of shops right in the area—convenience stores, bakeries, and places to grab quick food—so everything you need is close by. The neighborhood felt safe and comfortable, even as a solo traveler. The room and bath were clean. One thing to note is that there’s no 24-hour reception or on-site security, which they clearly communicated ahead of time via email. You’re given keys to access the gate, main entrance (on the second floor), and your room, so you do have independent access—but this setup might not be ideal for everyone, especially if you prefer more on-site staff presence. Also, depending on your neighbors, it can get a bit noisy at times, so light sleepers may want to keep that in mind. Overall, a great value stay in a convenient and safe area. I’d definitely recommend it for solo travelers who are comfortable with a more independent setup.

Clean, comfortable, friendly receptionist, not easy to locate (a sign on ground floor saying 'Somnio on 2nd floor' would help). Could not get any hot water from the shower. But it was centrally located - convenient for the airport shuttle at Plaza Catalunya, and the price (45) was excellent value.

Good quality for such affordable price, good room, very clean, with air-conditioning or heater, the shared bathroom was really clean and everything worked perfectly. and the place was quiet. It's location was the best, at the heart of the city.
