Sunotel Central

I hated this hotel. Everything was just shoddy and cheap and the service was bad. I’m usually pretty chill about a hotel especially when I’m not planning to spend a lot of time in the room but this was just awful. The good: - AC worked well - Bed was reasonably comfortable - In an easily accessible location The bad: - When we got into our room, there was a persistent and disgusting sewer gas smell coming from the bathroom. We told the front desk and they proceeded to make us wait in the heat for 2 hours for someone to check our room, only for them to tell us it is just “something that happens in the summer” and then at that point they offered us a DOWNGRADED room. We took it because we were exhausted. Sewer gas is so bad for you to breathe in it was shocking that they didn’t care. - The front desk was not apologetic or concerned that we had to wait for 2 hours and that they put us into a worse room. We only stayed because we booked through non-refundable chase points. - When we got to our new room the floors and the bathroom sink and shower floors were dirty. - Our bedsheets and towels were dirty. - The TV and remote barely worked. - We had other friends staying at the hotel in similar rooms and they had robes while we did not. - You have to ask for all toiletries from the front desk—including tissues. - There was a towel rack above the bidet for presumably bidet towels but we didn’t have any. - The rooms are not sound proof at all—we could hear every person walk down the hall. - Additionally you could feel/hear the rumbling from the metro below - The tiny tiny fridge was set to the warmest setting so we had some yogurts spoil that we planned to have for breakfast. - The pool was full of little floating pieces of algae or something but either way it was gross. - A friend also staying at the hotel ordered a bottle of wine to the pool area and it took 1.5 hours from ordering to arrival with an additional 10 minute wait on cups. - The entire roof is locked off at 9 so no chance to enjoy a drink with a view. - Cheesy signs everywhere telling you to watch your belongings or book some kind of contrived tourist experience. I have never hated a hotel so much. I know 4 stars can mean different things but certainly not this.

Excellent location, clean rooms, pool and jacuzzi, a varied and delicious breakfast, and the best part, the treatment by the receptionists who were charming.

Everything was very good, clean and perfect
