Ibis Barcelona Mataro

Hello! I am writing this review to inform you about the conditions that Hotel Mataro provides. We stayed at this hotel for 5 days, and I can say that the experience leaves a lot to be desired. At first glance, the hotel looks nice, but what it hides inside is not okay. Upon arriving in our hotel room, we noticed that the sheet was stained with small spots, probably blood—I hope it wasn't anything else. We had issues with the water because the temperature fluctuated: for a few dozen seconds, the water was fine, then it turned scalding hot, followed by freezing cold. All of this happened within the span of a minute. In the room we were assigned, a cockroach appeared—it was about 7–8 cm, very large. We went to the reception to ask for help, and our room was changed. In the second room, there was a large mold patch on the ceiling. I asked for another room because I am allergic to mold and couldn't breathe in that room. In the third room, after moving all our luggage around 2:00 AM, a cockroach made an appearance IN THE BED NEXT TO ME, the same large size as the one in the initial room. It is unacceptable for a hotel to have you sleeping with cockroaches in bed. We went back to reception, and we were told that they could either change our room again—but it wouldn't have air conditioning—or change the bedsheets. All of this happened in a single day. I am deeply disappointed with the conditions offered by the hotel, and after everything that happened, the staff told us they could offer us free breakfast on the morning of our departure. I tried contacting the hotel via email to get in touch with a manager, but of course, I have not been contacted so far.

Friendly and professional staff, but the hotel is not acceptable: the restaurant dining room is not air-conditioned, and in addition, there were large cockroaches in the room. The breakfast made us sick that same day. The environment is not secure. We were warned that there is a lot of car theft; I thought that only happened to others, but unfortunately, this morning they broke my window to steal a pair of glasses and some worthless trinkets.

Ants on the floor especially in the bathroom, we thought it was a coincidence of just one night but they appeared both nights. At the crosswalk next to the door a truck parks at one in the morning every day and the voices_shouts of the workers are heard in the room for almost an hour, happening both nights that we were there
