Playafels

We were looking for a hotel for a relaxing short vacation in close proximity to Barcelona. A prerequisite was direct access to the beach, without a road or train in between. That is how we came across the Hotel Playafels. We have not been this enthusiastic about a hotel for a very long time. For a vacation by the sea, in close proximity to Barcelona, absolutely perfect. At the reception, they do not seem to know the word "no," or "that is not possible." All requests were met extremely kindly with a "yes, of course that is possible." We had a large room with a balcony facing the sea. The room is perfectly equipped, featured an incredibly good bed, as well as a huge, beautiful bathroom. If you close the windows, you cannot hear anything of the early evening hustle and bustle on the beach promenade. In terms of cleanliness, regardless of whether in the room or at the pool, we were very impressed. The pool is always absolutely crystal clear, fresh, and clean. It is only a few steps to the sandy beach across the pedestrian promenade. Then we would definitely like to mention the hotel's own restaurant. The breakfast buffet is really great. Super-fresh, it is constantly being replenished, the quality is outstanding. You cannot say it any other way. We were also there twice for dinner. Yes, hotel restaurants are not always special. That is completely different here at Playafels. It has a small, somewhat "special" selection. So not just "the usual". The quality, taste, freshness.... we were simply thrilled both times. And the service should also be mentioned here. We were served by a young man. When asked what he could recommend to us, he went into detail about every dish, described to us what we could expect... and what he particularly likes and would recommend to us. Yes, we followed his recommendation and were thrilled. Well, when we try to find negative points - which we then did in our enthusiasm - we had to realize that nothing comes to mind. Yes, that is very unusual. We know that. But that is how it was for us.

English I attended a yoga event at Hotel Playafels. I was there for only 3 hours and was charged €16 for parking, with no special rate offered. This says very little about a hotel that aims to host events. Very disappointing.

Beautiful hotel in a perfect location. Morning walks on the beach, easy train to Sitges one evening, good restaurants nearby. Morning coffee on our balcony. Nespresso machine and kettle in room for coffee on the balcony, listening to the waves. Breakfast was good, if it did feel a tad overpriced compared to the place we had just left in the city with a greater selection. Good quality food and you can’t beat the view. We had the junior suite and it was massive with a siting area inside and a table and chairs outside on balcony, plenty of storage and closet space and a very large clean bathroom with a rain shower. We would stay again!
