Gran Hotel Rey Don Jaime

This hotel has many things in its favor: nice location (although a good walk from public transport that isn't a car), quiet place, good spa, good conference facilities, good gym, good pool. But it fails miserably at something very important: the rooms. Old, worn, damaged, with air conditioners that at 5 degrees on their thermostat are barely able to cool. With old doors through which you can hear everything and light from the hallway slips in. With a minibar but no coffee maker or even a sad complimentary bottle of water. Our terrace was shared with other rooms, quite unpleasant, like a shop window unless we keep the curtains drawn all day. The toilet flush is very noisy and you can hear those in adjacent rooms. Just as you can also hear movements in the adjoining beds, since the headboards are made of wood and make noise. There are very few outlets (in our room there was one broken or disabled, who knows). In general, poor rooms, very neglected, which are not in keeping with the rest of the hotel and are unacceptable in a hotel of this category. The space available for parking outside is more than sufficient. We had dinner at the bar a couple of times, since the restaurant was almost completely occupied by a conference. The bar staff is very friendly and the quality of the food is good.

I have stayed at the Grand Hotel Don Jaime for a business conference. The place is really a very nice, elegant hotel with excellent staff and very nice food, which was absolutely not overpriced. During the conference we had four lunches and four dinners, with a very good variety and plenty of options. The BBQ was superb. Rooms were very clean and spacious and reception staff very polite and friendly. Unfortunately I have to confirm that despite having checked on online it took a long time to get the room keys. If you arrive with a large group it is definitely going to be a long wait. It . The hotel is quite far from the beach and walking back the hill is really steep. It is pretty clear that the hotel is better suited for business meetings or large ceremonies, but overall an excellent experience!

Luxury room 👍🔥 for a 4-star hotel! It is in the main building, but there is also an old building near the pool where the bar is located. There, I believe, is the back of the old room. And our room was immaculate, elegant with a huge window across the wall, but what is really strange is that almost all the rooms do not have a balcony. Great TV and wardrobe. Excellent bathroom, with windows, and a wonderful line of shampoo, air conditioning, and lotion. Overall, everything is fine, but there is no balcony or tea supplies. I cannot say anything about the food, because we only stayed overnight. The area by the pool is quite beautiful, cozy, and well-maintained. A splendid panoramic view of the coast, but far from the sea, a hotel in the mountains, and nothing around.
