PARADOR

Our critical opinion refers only to the Vic-Sau Parador Nacional restaurant (not the hotel service, which we are unfamiliar with) We went as a family (6 people) and the food was pathetic; I would never recommend it. PARADORES is supposed to promote the gastronomic culture of each region. Regarding the selection of typical and farm-to-table dishes, for example, the "esqueixada de bacallá" was pathetic, frozen, bland, and far from what it should be; the "butifarra amb seques" (sausage with white beans) was not well cooked and the beans were just boiled, they had no flavor; we are not going to review the rest of the dishes..... terrible price/quality ratio notwithstanding that the restaurant service was very friendly I am writing these lines because I would like people who visit the area, which is so beautiful, to be able to enjoy the gastronomic level that this region has

Parador with an excellent location but it needs to be modernized (for example, remove the bathtub and add USB ports in the rooms). Disappointing breakfast for a Parador, limited selection and no allergen information. The air conditioning was at temperatures that were too low. The mattress was good, but the pillows were excessively soft. The pool is fantastic.

A good hotel in a magnificent environment. Rooms are large, clean, air-conditioned, and well soundproofed. Nice bathroom, but you have to shave by feel (poorly designed lighting). Car essential - the Parador is at the end of the road. The lovely walks all around are not for everyone: the slopes are (very) steep. The 11th-century monastery can fortunately be reached by car, and visiting it does not require Olympic-level fitness. Nice, fairly shallow pool, large green spaces. Pleasant terrace bar with a view. It is a shame that the reception is a bit bureaucratic and that the dining is not at all up to par.
