Parador Trujillo Hotel

A beautifully and sensitively renovated building within a 5 minute walk of the stunning, underrated, refreshingly uncommercialised and uncrowded old town of Trujillo. Such places in Europe are extremely rare. The parador where we spent 4 nights has all modern conveniences, eg. quiet aircon (needed in a hot September), swimming pool and room safe boxes, whilst respecting its historical origins. It has an authentic charm. Our ‘superior’ room and shower room had plain but perfect decor, spacious, spotlessly clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast buffet had hot and plentiful cold options and dinner was good. The car park was tight but free parking in the immediately adjacent streets was never a problem.

Charming building, located in an old convent. The staff is very friendly and makes the stay very pleasant. The rooms, however, would need a renovation to give them a new look.
