Cortijo Escondido

We were a party of 16 that stayed here for 2 weeks this month. The villa is big and beautifully maintained. Three bedrooms are in the main house, of which the master is very big. The other 6 rooms are off a large courtyard, this is where we ate all our meals. 3 of these bedrooms had no door on the bathroom which we found a little inconvenient, one of them had a curtain but the other two had nothing. The pool is a good size and there was plenty of room for everyone. The pool table and table tennis went down well with the children in our party. At the pool there was a breeze most of the time due to the position of the property, this was a welcome addition as it was very hot. A car is absolutely necessary as it is about 15 mins drive to the town of Arcos de la Frontera and the villa is up a very long dirt track, but the drive is worth it. On the whole it was a very lovely stay with a well equipped villa. The owners were very helpful during our stay and I would recommend it to anyone.

Cortijo Escondido is situated in a wonderful environment, ideal for people looking for quiet and beautiful nature. On the top of this mountain you have a splendid view on the surroundings. And it's also the perfect location to explore the area. A nice swimming pool, tasty breakfast, bbq and tapas, comfortable rooms and friendly reception by owners Filip & Kim. To be recommended!

We went to this B&B last year in October. Was it due to the bad weather on our arrival day (and the days after), but we did not feel at home when we arrived and we were a bit disappointed. In the beginning, the contact with the owner did not went well, but after a few days, the contact was more at ease. The rooms were not that luxurois as we thought they were gonna be. We booked a "deluxe twin room". The beds were small and hard, the badroom was open without doors and hangers for towels, so it stayed always pretty humid in our room. For the rest is was nicely decorated and very clean. The breakfast was OK but nothing special. We ate once there in the evening, it was really well prepared, but rather expensive if you compare what you can eat in the restaurants in the neighbourhood. The town of Arcos is rather far away if you want to go out in the evening,(30 minutes from door to door) but you get used to it. I did not like that there was no fridge in the room and that you could not use the common fridge if you wanted to store something. You are obligated to take everything from the honesty bar. The garden and views are stunning. We went there very low season, so it was quiete, but in our opinion, it must be very noisy overthere when it is plenty with guests.I would have given it maybe 4 rating, but not for this price, then I expect more.
