Alfonso

We spent 2 nights in Posada Alfonso, with our dog. The service was very good, clean rooms, familiar staff who suggested activities and walks close to the posada, and a tasty breakfast. Also, the building is just beautiful, totally worth our stay. If we visit this area again, we'll definitely hope to stay there again!

Situated between Commillas and Santillana del Mar on the main road. Older style property with a warm welcome and lots of google translations. The room was in small but clean and had all the things one would require. All the other guests were Spanish and we met over two excellent dinners, the salmon, if you like it is not to be missed. Not much to see in Cobreces, two churches and a walk through countryside to a cove with an old watermill. However lots to see in Commillas and Santillana, and a short drive to a beach.We have been in the area before and now wish we had found this Posada before as we found it better to stay here rather than in Santillana . Don't miss the chocolate and sherry liquer mine host is very friendly and a generous man!
