Aparthotel Playas de Liencres

Apartments designed above all for families with children, which was precisely what we were looking for. Starting with the positive side, the location between Santander and Cabárceno is very good and the surroundings too (we fell in love with the Costa Quebrada). We went with half board and the food surprised us in a good way, especially dinner: there were always several very delicious dishes, and the desserts too. To mention a drawback, there was little variety of fruit and breakfast was repetitive and lacked hot options (bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs...). The staff was friendly. We were able to use the outdoor pool every day and we liked it. We also didn't have any problems getting sun loungers. Our children liked the nightly mini-disco. We cannot say anything about the rest of the entertainment because we did not participate. Regarding the negative points: We booked a superior apartment with a view and they gave us 305. I don't know how the others were, but ours was very old (especially the bathroom, the doors, the curtains, and the sofa bed) and the bathroom items and minibar they provide do not compensate for the extra price. Upon entering, we couldn't get the card to work to turn on the lights and we had to call the front desk and they told us that "there was a trick" to it. When we got them to work, we left a card in all the time. But the worst thing was the air conditioning, which didn't work at all, and being on the top floor with sun and heat every day we were there, it turned the apartment into an oven. We had to mention it three times at the front desk until they finally fixed it on the third day. Until then, we had to sleep with the windows open and therefore with more noise and light. The sofa bed, as I said, was very old and the mattresses were very thin. Our oldest daughter didn't like it. The sheets and bedspreads had quite a few holes. We also saw quite a few silverfish in the bathroom. In short, I cannot give the aparthotel a good rating and I would not return despite the positive things, and certainly if I were to return I would not want a superior apartment or one located on the third floor. Furthermore, we were left with a bad impression of the hotel management because we expected them to offer us an apology or provide a gesture for the problems with the air conditioning, and nothing at all. A shame because it could be a very good hotel if they improved a few things.

Apartments for families with children because everything is designed for them. The location is a bit far from the beach and close to Santander. The environment is beautiful. My low score is due to the fact that when we arrived, we asked a girl at the reception if we could check in early, and she rudely told us no. So we started off on the wrong foot. The apartments are nice, although the bed is a bit soft, but you can rest. Low water pressure in the shower, but acceptable. The food is very average, and the restaurant staff is pleasant. The gym is fine, and the pool area, as I mentioned, is very family-oriented. What bothered me a lot is that the indoor pool was closed, which is precisely why I chose these apartments. They told us it was due to circumstances beyond their control, but they did not offer me any discount. It had to be Booking that offered us a solution with a discount for the next reservation, but they did not offer any gesture. I found the treatment very poor. We will not return or recommend it.

If you have kids, this is the perfect place! Rooms with a/c, a living room, and a mini kitchen. Restaurant (breakfast and dinner), laundry (coins only), supermarket right below. There is an outdoor heated pool with a nice view. I want to give a compliment to a man who was at the entrance of the restaurant, very attentive, and I forgot to ask for his name. It is very nice to meet people like that on your trip! I forgot to say goodbye and say: "May your retirement be lovely!" Suggestion: add more hangers/shelves on the kitchen and bathroom walls to accommodate things. Avoid putting sheets with holes on the beds, change the very stained curtains, and improve the quality of the soap in the bathrooms. Thank you for accommodating extra towels and pillows.
