GRAN HOTEL VICTORIA

Bathroom urgently needs extra attention. Our faucet needed to be descaled and the shower head did not work from a meter, only hard jet or water seeping out. I reported this at check out and hope they will take this into account. This is the first hotel during our tour in northern Spain that has bread to cut off yourself at breakfast and it is very tasty. Breakfast by the way, only the coffee from the vending machine is Nescafé, but you can ask the employee for and fresh real coffee from an espresso machine. If you don’t fancy a scrambled egg, you can also ask for a freshly baked one. The hotel itself is a 20-minute bus ride from Santander. The city is the busiest and least beautiful so far, so after a glitzy visit back to the hotel and enjoy the beach, which you can reach via stairs. We booked this hotel via weekend desk in a package with half board and a bottle of cava. The dinner at the hotel was very tasty, but the dishes followed each other too quickly, I suspect our table had to work a double shift, so at 1 hour 3 courses were presented. That was a shame and a minus. Our room on the 4th floor was above the terrace and was still quite noisy at 23:30, so be sure to bring earplugs. All in all a good hotel, with good breakfast, but a room that rather has 3star level.

Excellent location. Good restaurant and cafeteria. Tiny and very outdated room. It is not worth what it costs in its current state. Until it is thoroughly remodeled, look for other alternatives.
